Roman ruins at the square of Largo di Torre Argentina in Rome, Italy.

"A busy transport hub, Largo di Torre Argentina is set around the sunken Area Sacra and the remains of four Republican-era temples. These ruins are off-limits to humans but home to a thriving population of 250 stray cats and a cat sanctuary. [...] On the piazza’s western flank is Rome’s premier theatre, the Teatro Argentina, built close to the spot where Julius Caesar was murdered in 44 BC." (From www.lonelyplanet.com).

Piazza del Campidoglio, a square designed by Michelangelo on the Capitoline Hill in Rome.

"[...] for all its decorative statuary, the Piazza del Campidoglio possesses not a single Christian religious element, and its buildings completely hide S. Maria in Aracoeli from view. As designed by Michelangelo, the piazza and its seductive, theatrical approach reflect not God's power but man's - the newfound Renaissance ability of the human imagination to shape the urban environment in a way that, Godlike, creates order out of chaos." (George H. Sullivan: Not Built in a Day: Exploring the Architecture of Rome).

Wednesday, Oct 13, 2010: The shooting target at the Axalp-Ebenfluh aerial firing range in the Swiss Alps, with looters searching for bullets after the end of the first day of the annual Axalp Air Power Demonstration
Axalp-Ebenfluh firing range (2)
1st you have made so good and nice pictures of the airshow. 2nd I cant believe what you are holding there in front of a sign saying not to touch any remainings of ammo. How stupid (sorry) is this? Its dangerous, look at the one whos holding the yellow shell, this is most prob a HEI round; because of people like you, all the show get more and more restricted. Can you imagine what it means [...] (Andy)
